Our springiest road-running shoe returns energy with every stride — and features DNA AMP cushioning that’s now 20% lighter. With the new construction, I could tell the shoe provides energy back in each step. On SQD runs, I felt like I was getting more spring in each step. However, the forefoot didn’t allow much toe roll as I would like. You should be warned that leaning too far forward in this shoe might land you on your face. This is a bit of an over-exaggeration, but there is some serious return on energy with every step. The laces lace-up and hold tightly and they didn’t loosen during my first run.
From feel, I would have guessed the shoe was an ounce lighter. Long story short, life evolves, selection is natural, and the Nimbus 25 is the melding of the Nimbus and Nimbus Lite 4jnet crypto into one shoe. An arrow-point pattern in the outsole lets your foot move from heel to toe quickly. The arch support, while perfect for me, would not work for a flat-footed person.
Something I really appreciate in this version of the shoe is the extra forefoot cushioning. That was a major minor of the Nimbus 24, and really the only glaring negative from that shoe. With that extra 6 mm of stack height in the forefoot, there’s plenty of protection. The upper has been made lighter, more breathable, and a snugger fit too. It’s octopus-like in its smothering of your foot.

The upper as you can see is now constructed of knit material on the Levitate 4 and is obvious from the picture. While the knit upper conforms to the foot better, I didn’t find that it had any additional benefit. When running with one Levitate 3 and one Levitate 4, the difference in support is substantial. The Levitate 3 offers more forefoot flexibility, lending to a softer transition however it felt slower. Below, I will compare the Levitate 3 and 4 so that you can see the differences.
